Our mission is to empower these young people by offering peer-to-peer mentorship, coaching, and essential resources. We also extend our support to immigrants and refugees, striving to provide comprehensive assistance to help diverse set of young people realize their full potential.

Youth can engage with our services through our virtual platforms, community outreach initiatives, and by visiting our physical locations once they are established. Specific information about accessing each program will be available on our website and through local community partners.

The Youth Haven Network is open to a diverse range of participants, including:

1. Youth:

  • Young people aged 16 to 29 who are facing challenges such as homelessness, domestic violence, addiction, or other socio-economic difficulties.
  • Pregnant and parenting youth

2. Volunteers:

  • Individuals who are passionate about supporting youth and are willing to contribute their time and skills to our programs and initiatives.

3. Community Partners:

  • Organizations, businesses, and educational institutions that share our mission and are interested in collaborating to provide resources, mentorship, or support services.

4. Advocates:

  • Community members and stakeholders who want to promote awareness and advocate for the needs of underserved youth.

At the Youth Haven Network, we recognize that many young people face unique challenges, including legal issues, addiction, unintended pregnancies, homelessness, poverty, and family conflict. We also assist organizations in need of culturally relevant programming for their youth.

Our trained peer mentors are here to listen and provide support. They can offer resources when help is limited and refer youth to external services as needed. Additionally, our skilled coaches provide comprehensive support that includes:

  • Mental Health Coaching: Helping youth navigate emotional and psychological challenges.
  • Life Skills Development: Offering guidance on budgeting, relationship-building with peers, and setting life goals.
  • Career Coaching: Assisting youth in exploring career paths and developing job readiness skills.

We believe in empowering youth to overcome their challenges and work towards a brighter future. If you’re seeking assistance, we are fully equipped to help you on your journey.

No, self-referrals are welcome! You do not need to be referred by another organization or individual to join the Youth Haven Network. If you are a youth in need of support or interested in our programs, you can reach out to us directly. We encourage individuals to take the initiative to seek help and participate in our initiatives.

We prioritize cultural safety by implementing practices developed in collaboration with the black and Indigenous communities and ensuring ongoing training for our staff in cultural competency and trauma-informed care. This commitment helps create a respectful and inclusive environment for all youth.

What is the eligibility for your programs?
Participants must be between the ages of 16 and 29 and reside in Canada. While our programs are open to youth from all backgrounds, we prioritize Black and Indigenous youth to address systemic inequities.

To participate, individuals must agree to uphold our accessibility policy, anti-Black racism statement, and harassment policy. We employ a trauma-informed approach, which means we are committed to meeting youth where they are and practicing patience in our interactions.

Participants should be prepared to fully engage and participate in our programs, demonstrating a commitment to personal growth and community involvement.
